Bio

Kurt Haas is a partner of Coleman & Haas, LLP. Kurt was hired in January 2015 by Cheryl and has already assisted in a variety of case ranging from traffic tickets all the way up through a murder trial (which resulted in a hung jury in Columbia County Court).

Kurt is a native of Rockland County, New York and attended Rutgers University in New Jersey, where he graduated in 2005. At Rutgers, he made Dean's List and double majored in Criminal Justice and Sociology, as well as earning a Criminology Certificate. Kurt then went on to Albany Law School where he did a two year field placement with the Albany County District Attorney's Office before graduating in 2008.

Kurt continued to work in the Albany County District Attorney's Office until he was admitted to practice law in February 2009. Kurt was then hired as a full time Assistant District Attorney where he worked in the Street Crimes Unit until he left in 2014. During his time in the District Attorney's Office, Kurt worked on 100's of cases ranging from misdemeanors to A-I felonies, while his primary focus was drug and gun cases, he has extensive experience in all aspects of law. As part of his duties Kurt was the lead prosecutor in numerous felony trials, resulting in an impeccable trial record. His last two years in the District Attorney's Office Kurt was "gun" prosecutor.

Since joining Cheryl Coleman Law Offices, Kurt has successfully resolved a number of cases through extensive plea bargaining and Motions, as well as getting an Indictment dismissed in Schenectady County Court where our client was charged with Felony Drug Possession.

The addition of Kurt to the Firm will help boost the Firm's already excellent success rate in drug and gun defense.
